Thank you! I appreciate that. Yup is a cool story. There is more action for sure compared to Lovecraft (that I love its works as well). If you like check the "Sargasso Sea Stories" and "The Night Land" you might like too =)
Thank you Wayuki! Yeah the wear and tear did make it feel more like a real cover =D
this is awesome. The composition, the multiple light sources, the realistic wear, everything. I'm liking the book so far, too. It's like lovecraft except the narrator has a gun
Beautiful rendering! I also love how you added wear and tear to the cover.
Thanks Mathias! I thought about that. I the end I thought that would detract from the house's outline, so I did not do it.
The cover series is cool. I would if I had time on my hands. I have more ideas for pieces, than time to do them
I do enjoy me that game a lot. I would guess the Alone in the Dark series had some influences from Hodgson's work too, not as much as Lovecraft's though. =)
Thank Hapiel. I wanted to do it more smooth, but I was afraid to exceed the budget.=)
Thanks Jok! Yeah the wear and tear, marks of a good pulp novel. XD
Sweet! With the worn book cover marks to drill home that old school novel aesthetic.
I wonder what it would look like if the monster's fur caught some of that red rim light.
Title a bit crammed in there; not enough breathing room.
I would love to see you do a full book cover series done up like this.
Imagine a long running series like Goosebumps or Hardy Boys where the covers have design continuity between and actually look like a set that belongs together. Just a thort.
I'm getting Alone in the Dark 1992 vibes from this. Awesome composition!
Love this so much. A great entry in this week's challenge!
I just love the details of wear on the book cover, and the shading of the monster's fur
Thank you very much! Well not sure about perfection but I did felt satisfied with it. Is 10 colors short, not sure if I would be able to use them effectively though, so I left them out =S
Thanks Sarah! In the book the pig things are more smooth like regular pigs, but I saw a cover with a more boar like depiction, I thought that would give more texture so I did =X
OOoo this is great, love the boar head and the house!
Thank you very much! I really wanted to make it feel like a cover =)
