Having a bit of a old school rpgs phase, I came across Hydlide 3, which left a really impression on me, it looked ugly, but the good kinda ugly (the MSX and NES versions mostly). Glitchy, abstract, it left a lot to the player's imagination, such style peaked my interest, so I gave it a try. Since my skills, and maybe my imagination, were not up to the test (yet), I decided to take a step back and continue working in a more comfortable manner. This is the result.
Only scenery mockups for now, gameplay and UI will need a bit more thought, and I want to move on to other projects (not that this one will be abandoned).
Titles screens aren't a joke.
Used AndroidArt's JMP pallete. |
@Taks Thanks! That was the last one made so I was pretty comfortable with the style by then.
@Trigonomicon Ty! I used the ctrl + C ctrl + V technique, very effective
