Protip: If you're using photoshop, you can use the save for the web legacy feature, you'll get your color count to a more manageable number.

it is. that's why I never use the blur or smudge tool on aseprite.
if you want to avoid high color counts, use indexed mode instead of RGB mode.
now that said, here's the color reduced version :
total color count is 40, but I think that you could make do with 32
