The Flowing: Creatures are called 'the flowing'. When they make the journey before the bad season, they travel towards the homes in the trees. From above, it looks like a river of water flowing, as the moonlight reflects from the creatures' fur.

Bad Season: Stronger hunter type creatures emerge from their slumber and hunt accross the grasslands. They do not enter the forests where the trees protect those not of ill will.

The world is no way an attempt at realism, but a fantasy setting.

Thanks to big brother, jalonso and larwick for crit and suggestions

I'm not sure how I missed this one. These colours make my life and the concept is exquisitely strange. Fav'd.

Dra_chan (Level 8 Shodan) at 9/21/2006 1:50:29 PM
This is amazing because:

Thanks for the comments and favs guys . I didn't use ref when drawing this since I wanted an uninluenced setting, but if it looks like something there is nothing I can do haha. Thanks again guys.

calacver (Level 1 Rookie) at 9/20/2006 1:08:08 AM
Haha, you just made me google them, I have to disagree, apart from long snouts shaped differently. But I guess the snouts is the reminder. Anyways this is awesome work buloght. Fav.

milkyjon (Level 4 Murderer) at 9/19/2006 7:10:06 PM
The wolves remind me of the critter from ice age. Nice piece..must have taken you ages. I especially like the twirleyness of the branches and the creatures aswell as colour choice. well done.

Fabulous, it really brings you into the mystical magical place that it is.

Darth Mandarb (Level 6 Serial Killer) at 9/15/2006 9:07:11 PM
Great stuff!  I really like the way you weave the story into the image.

I love the contrast between all the details in the foreground, and the limited details of the mountains/sky.  Gives it the "fantasy" setting you were aimin' for!

Atooi (Level 5 Soldier) at 9/15/2006 1:52:05 PM
Wonderful. Very magical.

-DE- (Level 8 Marshal) at 9/15/2006 1:36:53 PM

rats (Level 1 Gangster) at 9/15/2006 12:26:55 PM
An amazing scene. The mood and magical feel is just awesome, and the little guy in the front even looks a little scared. Great composition too. Fav.

Blick (Level 6 Commander) at 9/15/2006 11:19:05 AM
In some spots it takes a while for me to tell what's going on with the shapes because the same colors are used on everything, but it's still really nice work. I really like the contrast between the strong highlights and deep shadows on the fur.

fil_razorback (Level 5 Detective) at 9/15/2006 10:09:46 AM
As expected, 7/7 and fav =)

Badassbill (Level 8 Cannibal) at 9/15/2006 10:07:30 AM

thor (Level 1 Depressed) at 9/15/2006 4:57:43 AM
A perfect palette. Amazing work!

robotriot (Level 3 Hatchikyu) at 9/15/2006 4:42:59 AM
I think the bark on the tree should be less segmented (branches look like they're stuck/glued to it), but otherwise this piece got a great atmosphere and I like both the palette and the low colour count.

ManningKrull (Level 6 Hitman) at 9/15/2006 3:26:03 AM
This is really a beautiful piece, both the pixelling itself and the composition and colors and mood.

glassy glaze (Level 2 Peon) at 9/15/2006 2:12:35 AM

Crylar (Level 4 Murderer) at 9/15/2006 1:44:11 AM
Really nice colors.

Saboteur (Level 4 Shichikyu) at 9/15/2006 1:07:30 AM

Yeah, totally a fave. It took me a while to realise that the things protruding in front of them was not their arm, but was their trunk, or nose, or somethin. I almost prefer seeing it incorrectly, 'cause the arm-in-front gave this whole millitial appeal to things, and makes it seem as if they're pointing toward where they're going, almost as a self-reminder or built-in compass.

Nonetheless, it is truly an awesome piece, and a joy to look at.

raynoa (Level 4 Team Leader) at 9/14/2006 11:40:03 PM
Great feeling of night magic wood, and these wolves are amazing!
