Aww, why does it need revision? I admit that it *did* look color reduced, but is wasn't that obvious.

 

Oh soz for the double post, but I think the boarder and the white background distract from the awsome sprite you've got. Try some animation jumping, walkcycle etc.

too many shades for my likeing. 1 colour would have been better in my opinion.

I would like to add. If you worship the pixel, like I myself do. You will join me in celebrating it's profound impact by voting for it. Together we can see the humble pixel as a thing of beauty and one with a big shiny cup beside it. Thankyou

Thanks for your comments Lawrence. It is never my intention to offend anyone, whomever they may be or from what background they are from. My work is purely a celebration of the mighty pixel.

I was toying with the idea of having a white pixel on a black background for a while, but in the end I plumped for the black pixel on the white background. To me it just screams 'HELLO!' in a really loud (if somewhat squeaky) voice.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Luckily for everyone, I do indeed have a WIP! It will be with you shortly, I just have to piece together the hundred or so frames into an animated GIF and I'll post up the link!

I think this is quite a dangerous piece; with all the overpowering religious connotation, Muslims might become very upset and angry. Also, the sheer epic proportions of this really is tantamount to non-pixel art, as verfum has pointed out, all the colours and shapes seems just too much and over stimulate the eye, let alone arouse NPA suspicion. I think you perhaps need to lower your horizons a little.

Very nice, how long did it take?  I would suggest a link to the original art, or is this your own?  I'd say there is a hint of HR Giger in there, keep up the good work.

Could you post a link to WIP - I'm not sure this is pixel art. I don't believe anyone could produce a piece like that without using color reduction.

Please don't take offence, I'm not judging your ability - just got to be sure as pixeljoint is purely for 'hand-pixelled' work. If you did color-reduce then you might be better-off posting this on DeviantART.

It's definitely got style, I have some crits though.

1) You could have added a frame to kill the white background from the dark theme surrounding.
2) The pixel character seems a little lifeless, give him more character.
3) There is no center-piece, maybe you could shift the pixel left? Just a suggestion, don't get offended.
4) I don't like the palette, it seems a bit forced.

I'd say it's a good start, but I think it's a WIP and would be better suited in the forums. Don't get discouraged, I think over time you'll only improve, try to learn from the other artists. You definitely have talent.

Maybe you could AA it  bit more.  It seems a bit jagged.  Also, try to define a lightsource.  I see about 3, and none of them make sense.  Also, the dithering is a bit noticeable on this piece.  With a bit of work, you could have a great piece of work on our hands.
