Portrait based on Emma Watson's huge grin #3. I liked the smile so much, i wanted to try to capture the expression in pixels, while not going for a exact replica (bit of a caricature there).
(Staying clear from dithering, trying to develop some sense for value without that "trick"). About 12 hours of work. Most of them on the hair. God, the hair! Hair is hard.
Thanks for the comments, people! I didn't realize this was so creepy, but i think you may have to thank Ms. Watson herself for that :). Glad y'all liked the hair! Yeah, the exagerated facial features were purposeful, big chin and small nose.
Good thing i made a few people smile, that was the point (some of it).
Next time i may try to keep the values closer together, so that it's smoother, some parts i wasn't all that glad with (mostly, some of which you mentioned already, neck and left cheek "blemish").
If one day i feel up to it, i'll try coloring it (keeping it at 16 colors, if it can be done).
you people need to realize that art isnt cut and dry... some things arent meant to be photorealistic, if it was then we wouldnt have art, it would be called PHOTOGRAPHY. look at art for what it is, not of what you think it should be or what it was. every artist has a different style and sees things differently.
personally, i like this, caricature's always make me smile, and you did this in a more "creepy" manner than in the norm. 8/9 dots from me gj!
Oh god that's freaky. She's satan in female form!
I agree with... that other guy.... mouth is a bit too high, even for such a wide smile :)
Her neck could do with soem dithering too, but apart from that, hair is great, skin is extremely well done, and effect is just freaky :D
Good job!
WHOA! FREAKY!
i like the shading though :)
you've actually squished her face vertically, and that chin could knock someone out XD
it's like jay watson (jay leno and emma watson combines) hahaha
Spot on! I immediately thought of her when I saw it. The teeth and eyes are great, although I don't know about the blemish area on the cheek to her left.
It's vaguely Watson-ish, though you've given her quite a masculine jawline, especially for a teenage girl. Try reducing the level of facial detail and really softening that jaw. At the moment, it's rather reminding me of the Incredible Hulk in drag. The hair is quite nicely done, though.
Pretty well done, though I don't see how this will do her grin any justice :p DR: The eyes are so small because her eyelids are partialy closed, you usualy do that when you laugh.
