Always amazed by how some of the "real pros" choose colors, these are all extremely professional and well polished pieces
Can relate to spending a bunch of time trying to rework a sprite that has some fundamental issues going on. Knowing when to step back and start from the beginning is certainly a valuable skill, especially with rendering heavy styles as there so much detail to get lost in. I would be interested in seeing a modern take on these concepts!
The elf is definitely the weakest of the bunch
Funnily enough it is the one I spent most of the time with, retouchig it and trying to make it work. These are a little old now but if I ever get back to them I might re-do the elf from scratch. Thank you for the compliments! I really like the wizard as well, It's one of my favourite small pieces
I really like the silhouette of the wizard, the hat shape is particularly distinct. Goblin came out pretty clean as well, as did the night's armor plating (particularly the face plate). Elf has such particularly aggressive saturation that it's hard to make out the details but I like the concept. Cool work Reff!
Thak you! I always love drawing orcs/goblins or any creature that isn't stereotypically beautiful, It's a really fun challenge and they always end up looking really cool and interesting!
These are so gorgeous and full of personality. I bet top right would be great friends with my goblin character.
Gorgeous colours!
