Studying a bunch of demoscene work helped with figuring out that dance of saturated and desaturated colours on a ramp that helps push that high contrast effect. Now just time to scale it up
As I said before - Fantastic work, perfect every way. My favourite from you.
(palette rocks)
Thanks Theo, definitely feels good to get back to doing more illustrations.
Glad you notice the animations! Always liked how in the old Blizzard RTS games the unit portraits would have subtle animation to them, not so much distract from the action or readability - but enough to suggest a little bit of life.
I love this, great piece. The minimalistic animations just take it to another level. Awesome
Thank you and it is doing much better compared to a couple years ago! Still have to be careful but quite grateful to be able to work on the things I want to again.
great hair. Hope your injury is faring better these days
Thanks CELS means a lot knowing how much art you go through! Follow up is indeed the plan, have a bunch of stuff I want to get to while I have the time
Some of the best I've seen in a long time, easily one of my faves of 2022. And great to see it on PJ, where I can zoom in to see the details and animations better.
I like the description and I hope it's a sign that we'll see more from this universe.
Thanks! Added the outline to suggest a better sense of continuity, felt detached without it.
The shape and lighting on the hair really stands out! Cool detail to have the outline of the mechanical shoulder visible under the shirt too.
This artwork is astonishing! Excellent work with the colors and clustering!
Hair was probablly the most fun I've had with it in a while. Thanks!
