To be honest with you, I don't have a problem with the gnome ( not that much, at least...), but moreover, the width of the trunk of the tree. To me, it seems the issue is the tree is too wide, or stretched from it's center, to the bottom left-half where the gnome is holding on. I can understand you not wanting to edit that part however, as there are some great coloring techniques just a-happenin' all over that region. A way to try to resolve this issue may be trying to create a larger mouth for the tree to save the tree's negative space, so to speak.

I guess the best way to think about it, is it would be a lot more eye freindly, if the large trunk of the tree had a larger face/ mouth region to go with it. Than again, thats just my opinion

I'm another who doesn't think much of the gnome guy, i think it's his face that bothers me the most. But yeah, the tree is amazing, not sure what to call the style, but it makes it look like a giant emerald or something. Probably would have liked to see some more refinement in places such as the background. But wh00t wh00t. +fav
