Very cool and dynamic piece, with a strong sense of violence (in a good, gamey, Halloweeny way) to the pose.
Getting comments like this, from people you look up to, levels up your Confidence, Motivation and Feeling Good stats, but I have to say that I just dropped part 3, so pealse check it out
One of the best comments I've ever got. Thank you for linking that piece. I haven't seen it yet, and I love it. The comparison is even more flattering.
This is perhaps my favorite submission of Pixelween 2022 so far. There's a jaggy style that reminds me of echerry's battle scene, it's reminiscent of 80's fantasy in its use of color, contrast and crazy hair, it looks like a game I'd actually want to play, and despite the frickin tiny canvas it actually has a lot of cool details that are easy to miss at first.
shm31, my initial reaction was "if you say so..." but If I type that, people will realize I have no clue what I'm doing thank you my friend. Yeah I tried to use the palette the best way I can and therfore I did X and Y...
The rendering of the player character and the ground is beautiful. You look at it and get the impression there's more colours being used, more anti-aliasing, more suggestion of texture than the resolution actually allows for. It's all well offset by the violent background that's much more cel-shaded in comparison without feeling sparse or poorly-formed.
