Interesting choice to take with the palette where the background far-most colour is the darkest available, while the player character's (and enemy sprite's) darkest colour is a deep red brighter than the former. This could let them appear in front of all sorts of stage themes with different colour ramps, without getting lost. Between the blue/purple sky and the yellow/orange ground, the player's colourscheme and the UI, I'm reminded of a Game Boy Color platformer.
