Paradoxically the quality of this spritesheet has me a little annoyed because all I have to offer in feedback is that it's quintessentially Amiga-esque, or Apogee-esque. "What does it mean when something has an Amiga aesthetic?" "You know it when you see it." The inability to articulate is frustrating in setting up a case study. "It has greys and strongly desaturated colours and lots of anti-aliasing!" "So does Metal Slug."
Ironically one of my favourite Amiga sprites here is the boss ship because the blue and red back-lighting is strongly reminiscent of that of the boss' space pod from Sonic 3, a Mega Drive game.
The player ships escalate in bulk and jet propulsion. Are they selectable from the start of this hypothetical game [weak/fast, medium, strong/slow] or part of an upgrade tree?
