That's some tight control of the palette. Especially how much you've kept your lights and dark separated to really emphasize the rimlight and beam effects. It's quite cinematic!
The floor is meticulously rendered, maybe my favourite part of the piece. The outline around the man's lower body is clean and serves to separate it from the floor. The rimlighting on the upper body is bold with an appealing bright ramp. The clothing details and tools on the man's uniform have some ambiguity in lighting to match with the atmosphere of the background while having enough solid conveyance ot form that nothing feels cheated. This would make a strong 80's horror movie poster.
Hmm, i've looked at the palette carefully and eventually decided to optimize it a bit.
Now it's 32 31 colors! Thanks again.
It's not so much about the number of colours and how efficiently the colours are being used. The reason I checked in the first place is because at first glance it looks like it uses many hundreds of colours and I was going to question if it was against the rules. I was very surprised to find it was only 39! Really amazing work.
The concept is also great, too. It's a very striking image.
39 colours! It looks like so many more. Really fantastic work; the reflection on the floor in particular looks great and it's clear it's done by hand.
thank you :)
