I think that all of us, at some point in our lives, have felt like Shinji, in the sense that we feel frustrated and powerless in the face of some difficult situation. 

Something similar happened to me, and at the time, to express my pain, I tried to do this Evangelion panel where, well, there came a time in my life, where I literally felt that way.
