@Mathias yeah his designs do have a naturally toyish appeal to them. So in that sense, these are too edgy and bleak to be vierbit-like. Vierbit's rendering really is god-tier, though. He'll put 6 different hues on a single object, 4 pixels of dithering to tie it together, and you'll go "Of course that's how it should be rendered! Obviously!"
Enormous effort! Very atmospheric and enchanting!
Cool guys, thank you.
@specialmin64 - hah. What blows me away the most about Vierbit's stuff is not just how densely detailed and colorful his work often is, but how creative and full of inventive concepts and ideas it is. He's just as much a designer as he is a production artist. A crafter of worlds.
While we tend to ambiantly get better at rendering and use of light and all that after time spent, there's no easy path to becoming imaginative and inventive - skill that transcends pixel art or whatever medium is being used. This is why I think Vierbit is a truly horrifying entity.
Heavy ! Would really like to play this game and go though this sets in detail
love the choice of colors in this horrific scene
these are sick looking, colorful and yet really oppressive. You give vierbit a run for his money.
I like the business signs "Evil Girls XXX" and "rat steaks!"
is this all stuff for uh, Another Space Opera? i think was the name? reminds me of the style they were running with for that game
edit: oop, yes, lol. Cheers! I was almost on that project but it didn't work out sadly
