Very beautiful colors and super neat flowy shapes. The little bit of light reflecting on the woman's cloak is a cool touch. I love it! :D
el diseño es muy bueno, y los colores tambien, me gusta ese diseño del personaje, como de una escultura de roca, es muy buen contraste con la flor de atras, que me gustan mucho esos colores 10/10
well, it might have just been the black throwing me off. The character as a whole still looks pretty slick! Like a funereal statue. It sounds like our processes are similar
Yes you might be onto something there, I like to add deep black comic book like shadows quite early in the process, after defining the shapes. No midtones or anything like that. Sometimes I add highlights as well, but not in this piece. Then the rest of the lighting is mostly a progressive refining process based more on muscle memory and intuition than anything else.
Hi, just me again with more unsolicited criticism. May I ask if/how you separate lights from darks before rendering? I feel like the man's cloak lacks definition compared with the rest of the picture, and I'm wondering if it's mostly because its folds weren't defined well enough in two colors before more colors, textures, blending etc. were added. That and the cloak's darkest color seems like it was tacked on at the last minute to match the background.
I only mention it because everything else is so well done. The flower-nebula thing in the background is especially good; like monthly top 5 good. I agree with Flinigan who said on another pic your recent work resembles the great Mattias Rotman
This is beautiful.
