Its been a while in the making, but here it is, finished. Thanks goes out to all those in the forums here and at pixelation who for the crits. edit 1/23/10: touched up the palette and made a few tiny tweaks as it was getting a bit outdated, old version found here.

Giant kraken attacking sea-faring adventurers isn't a particularly original theme, it's kind of like knights vs. dragons. So no, not from there.

The reason I love pixel art is because it can be so much like other art forms, or it can be simply childish. Both look fantastic and require lots of skill.

My other comment on this is an inside joke. I wish to add a serious comment now.
There are many great pieces in Pixeljoint. There is a smaller group of truly inspired pieces. This, piece, imo, really belongs in the even smaller group of pixelart masterpieces.
