The sea on this piece is jus spectacular. Infact I really can fault it. The scenery and sprites seem to match perpectly. Deffo reminds me of the lost vikings game, but this is far FAR better. Well done, great job.

This is great! I. too was following the progress thread. I love how you've rendered the characters -- reminds me of the Settlers (if you know that game). The black outlines work very well. If only this could be a game...

Brilliant, beautiful. I loved it from the outset, and the final product is pure sex (assuming, of course, that sex is made up of thousands of tiny, masterfully arranged squares... which it is, right? ...guys?)

Its weird how it's in the newest pixel-art box and the wekkly showcase :D, that shows how fast this has been rated and awaited for completion by so many members. totally deserved.

Great work !!! The characters are great despite their very small size ! The sea is excellent as well. I would have only 2 critics: the sail could have been more dynamic, and the clouds could have been less static too, but that's already a great pic !

13 colours is amazing for a picture of that cartoony style. Really cool, funny, well-made... waht more can you ask?

great stuff! that sail bugs me a bit too, but hey...

my only bits are that the sail looks out of perspective... more front on when it should be more sideways
and it is too hard looking - not fabricy looking at all the lines and scuffs and such look like they are more textur-esq to a rock or something hard
the highlight on the front of the boat is too much of a gleam (personally) - seems more plasticy
wood is alot more natural - doesnt have that fine crisp perfect look about it.. a few more imperfections, slightly different lighting on each plank, etc, could help
the clouds are just too bland for me.. maby personal taste
lastly all i can say - the body of the kraken is too flat.. its not rounded - it appears to have 3 flat sides indicated by shadow colour, base colour and highlight... kind of like a trapazoid almost. So only thing i can say with that is to round the shading and dithering more to give a more cylindrical feel to the squid.

all my above statements are probably more stylistic choices and suggestions on texture.

the only thing that i think can possibly detract from the piece is seeing it so much because you took the time to get all the wondeful critique from the boards. this piece is at a level far beyond that of your other works.
