Wow this is definitely something different. It's very weird but in the good sense, in that there are so many different styles meshing here. Good stuff!
Thank you! I'd say that was what I was going for - not an entirely unfamiliar style but a new approach to fuse familiar elements into something strange. I'm glad you appreciate it. Besides DB16 there's a few palettes downloaded from Dotpict, the rest are my own palettes with some custom picked colors to tie it together.
Feels like a bunch of pixel art techniques and styles being put to a new use. It's cool how the transitions between textures sort of create new, more unusual, effects, and there's a nice glitchy/retro feeling overall. Simlar thing with the colors, where it's like a mix between several different coherent palettes, though I only recognise DB16.
Very cool, very weird, and if I look at it too long I start seeing strange animals.
