this is not really a mockup but i think the sprites look pretty good at this point.

The sprites are top notch, they look like some kickass toys, in a good sense :D

I don't quite like the red laser shots, especially the 255 0 0 color, and the bg could use more variation AND more seamless tiling.

But - the sprites themselves got nothing to complain about really

On the tiles you should generally decrease the contrast.  I would also play around with darker colours and/or less contrast.

many thanks for the feedback, i basically agree about the background and have to admit i was never good at tiles.  - suggestions about the background are welcome.

Such a nice image. Maybe there's way too many of the purple missiles. The tanks are ace!
