I keep going back to mockups of the little bird dude exploring ruins.
Reused some tiles from the previous ones, but went isometric instead.
I also wanted to give it an Amiga feel, with the interface placed at the corners (HeroQuest and Cadaver being the main influences for this), but with a sort of immediacy to the info (and so Link's Awakening came to mind, hence displaying the "B" and "A" buttons on the interface itself).
Gameboy palette, but I admit I didn't pay much attention to tile limitations... |
