when it comes to 2D games less was more way back. This is a kind of nostalgia piece, and part of thousands of tiles I have made for an old school replica game.

While the animation is great it does look quite tiled.
i think you could remedy this in a way they did in the first grandia game.
on a transparent layer ontop of the water you have the same animation again only not put exactly above or in synch with the other one.
I love this!!! I've been trying to make water tiles for my game, but got nowhere any tips?
