i like how you shaded it.. gives a sea-creature texture to it!

Huggkruka: What do you mean smoother? I think it's fine, as I see little evidence to it being too sharp. (I promote proving me otherwise)

Everyone: I'll try 'de-dithering' it, just for the hell of it.
But~ chances are I won't update this one, and I don't know if I would be allowed to submit another version, so close to the other.

It's got nice style, but with 14 colours you could have done it smoother(If colour count is something you mind). Character itself is excellent, especially the eyes.

Ogtrop! I just rated my own art on accident, gave it a 2.

You guys have... Diverse opinions. Thanks, everyone, for the criticizm and compliments.
@Godslayer, he wasn't really supposed to look slimey... More like a toad than a frog.
I'll probably adress more of your replies later.

I love the colors and the character design, but I think the dithering is a bit overdone.

nice job on the shading. the head could be more smoothly shaded, but it looks good as it is

This suffers from some overdithering I think. Instead of the gravely texture for his head, a smooth slimey look would be more impressive.

I really like the texture effect from the dithering.

Squiddy totoro ?

Pretty cool.  It reminds me of Davy Jones with the gritty coat on smoother skin.  Excellent job ^.^

Very cool. I adore the shading style.
He looks almost like a penguin.

i like the concept and the colours
the rib cage is alittle strange looks more like armour than a natural body part...

but again..
i want to say that the texture you have does not suit the piece... The texture you gave is very sandy and muddy looking. the outside blue should have been a slick hard looking texture, and the chest be scaley. Its the way you blended the colours and disorganization + randomness of some pixels that gives it that sandy look.
im also not too keen on the dark blue outline along the inside of the chest...

otherwise, interesting character concept.

Awesome. Really digging the palette and shading style.
