I'm still such a fan of this. So much inspiration! This is some Dan Seagrave type stuff!
Holy cannoli, this is completely amazing!
I love the colour of the piece. It feels very much like a renaissance painting. Also gives me some DmC (2013) vibes.
Very cool work. I especially focus on the meat goo at the bottom which remind me of old War of the Worlds-illustrations that have haunted me since childhood.
Also, you have a really good point about how you sould stop waiting until you're "good enough" to start your big piece. I should act on that sometime.
Hey you sure did! If I was to highlight something else it would be the vibrant colors of the sky and how pleasantly they go together. Will be very fun to see where you take this stuff next.
@Luca, there could be no better reward, than a comment like this. Yes you are right, meaty bodies were much more difficult, but also much more fun to draw, than skeletons.
Also the patience to draw all these skeletons, jesus f christ. One of the most tiring ones imo xD
Good stuff. From time to time there come works that we can consider a pretty clear level ups in terms of skill. This is your level up, for sure. Great gore, great mystique, great colors. Well done!
@chacmool321 No! Don't look there! There is nothing interesting there.
@rogue_frog Thank you! I'm aware that none of any similar modern pictures, and all the less modern before them, would even exist without Bosch and Bruegel. Even if the inspiration is not direct, or is in some kind of unconscious way, it most certainly is undeniable.
This is excellent, it reminds me of Bosch but with much more modern knowledge/inspiration!
Really stellar texturing techniques.
I'm happy you took the time to make this!
@Theoden, I guess I will start another one right away. See you in few months
The title slams! \m/
Amazing work man. It took me minutes of zooming in to take all the details in.
Definitely has that Death Metal album cover vibe :)
I can even see the title of the album: Pillars of Decay.
The time you put into this has definitely payed off.
I am glad you finished and shared this gem with us, now we want more :)
Wow,... I think that this will go straight to the top 10. This is amazing my friend! And the palette is just awesome.
@Night, your comment means a lot to me, because I have found your equpix15 as most inspiring and joyful to use, among all of the palettes that I have encountered so far.
So I impressed Reo... That makes one item from my bucket list checked off.
@Space-Age Wrangler, thank you very much for your meticulous and favorable appreciation. And also, I was aware but your other observation is true. I guess I had been having more challenge/collab activity couple of months ago. I guess you cannot hide anything from the internet.
Very cool piece, the gore-landscape is especially impressive!
Awesome! I like how you managed to give the branches those twisting forms even through they're made of so many little bodies. The textures and transitions are all great too, and there's some nice changes as you "go up" the tree, sorta makes It seem like the top parte is the oldest, which is cool.
I wondered a couple of months algo why we didn't see that much new art from you, I guess now I know.
Personally, based off your title I would have called It Not Safe For Art.
@MrQuetch, thanks! You gave an idea for a title "Tell me that you are absolutely insane, without telling me that you are absolutely insane", but it is too long.
@cure, you have no Idea how you made my day. Studying how you practice and theorise art was a huge part of my growing process here on PJ, and now, having you "read my mind" through my drawing gives me an ambivalent feeling of unworthy and well earned at the same time.
@Umbohr, what can I say, it's a kind of a hellish landscape ;)
My friend, I love your works so your comment means a lot.
This is absolutely insane and stunning! I love the colors... Job well done! This really inspires me.
I was just thinking it looked like a heavy metal album cover by Max Ernst. Very fun and terrifying.
Love the contrast you established between the beauitul turquoise sky and the hellish scenario filled with nightmarish figures
