These are screenshots for a game I made for a "gameboy game" competition. Resolution and colors are the same as those of the original gameboy. The text is a bit messed up though.

Im making a gameboy game also, so I think this is ace, If you have any handy tips or good references that may of helped you please email me something, tinytheone@msn.com . It's a platformer like yours but Im trying to make it as individual as I can. About your mockup I think you've captured the gameboy-esque quality with the simple background and great use of colour, the only thing that I can see that could be worked on is the characters, but saying that I've not started designing any yet so Im Hardly the person to judge. ;( I'll fave this.

Sadly the 'Arial/helvetica' type takes a lot of impact away. The 4th screen is quite busy. With that said, this is awesome and the level of attention given is worthy of praise.

Thats the link to the game. The issues with the view really ruin the whole game though. And while playing remember there was a 3 week limit (regulair schoolweeks) In wich I had to program, sprite and compose everything (In other words, don't expect anything good)

Can I get a link to this game??

Yeah it probably is too detailed. Also the sprites were too big, the game itself had some view problems because of that.

Looks awesome but I wouldn't use Arial here, it looks way out of Gameboy style..

Everything else is great

This is pretty cool, but in my honest opinion I DO think it's a tad over detailed to be for the gameboy. Then again it just depends on your style.

 Good job, none the less.

Looks good, but I'm pretty sure Gameboy didn't have antialias on text.

This is really great. It has nice style. And the characters are fantastic. The tank boss reminds me of the boss sreens in rainbow island. well done, Id like to see a colour version using similar characters, say for the DS or sumething. fav
