St. Photini is the woman Christ met at the well, and my wife's patron Saint.

Christ spoke to Photini of water at Jacob's well, and how she would receive the Living Water and never go thirsty again.

Water is of a special significance to me; when I was much younger and just graduated high school, I nearly died from Crohn's disease. The condition is treatable, but I was not diagnosed for many months, during which time my health grew worse and worse. I am over 6 feet tall, and the disease caused so much weight loss that at my worst I was only 40.82 kg (90 lbs.)

In the extremity of my illness, I remember that water began to taste horrible to me. I'm not sure what the cause was, probably my own rotten insides, but drinking became a terrible experience in addition to everything else going on, physical weakness, hair loss.

I asked God then, if I could just drink water again, like before, and not have it taste like sewage in my mouth.

In any case, I made it through that dark part of my life, and now I'm in my late twenties and married to a loving lady, and for that I am eternally thankful.
