Secret Santa '23: made for marceles!
Their list of "likes" included cats, dragons, and pirate ships so of course I had to draw a pirate-cat fighting off a dragon lol. I hope they like it! It was a lot of fun to make :)
Cat-pirate is very loosely inspired in design by old drawings and descriptions of the real-life pirate Anne Bonny. As Anne was Irish, I did consider originally making it a british shorthair or manx-style cat, but ended up making the cat a persian for the puns ("persian bonny" -> "purrs-anne bonny")
The icon is meant to be a rolled piece of parchment in a bottle but it ended up looking a bit like a stick of cinnamon and y'know what, I'm okay with that lol |
