The last weekly challenges I did were the PixelJoint Pizza and PixelJoint Map. I decided it was finally time to do another one. I don't think I've ever taken as long on any other pixel animation as I have this one. I feel I bit off more than I could chew. I went with the full resolution of 400x300 which meant more work but also more flexibility in things. There are a few inconsistencies with the animation, but it was overall a real fun one to do. For example, the balloon draping over the characters looks more like a thick cloth than the thin skin of a balloon. The physics of the balloon popping are also a little wonky but given the cartoonic nature of the piece I felt I could somewhat make it work. Due to time constraints, and a physical burnout of working on this piece, I decided it was time to wrap it up and post it. Still, this is one of the most expressive pixel animations I've ever done. And again, a very fun one to do.
