this is my entry into the canon of anime girls holding programming books (the logo on the book she's holding is that of the rust programming language). it's also the only time i've drawn a character with a specific gender identity (the nail polish implies she's trans, as they're the color of the trans pride flag), since usually i leave it ambiguous.

i drew it as tribute to all the trans catgirls whose code i use when i write rust-lang, there are more than a few of them, as i understand it.

i tried drawing the cover of one of the actual rust books, but couldn't make it come out right at that size (and even if i could, i wasn't sure it would be obvious what book it was, so i didn't try that hard) so i decided to just go with a book with the rust logo on it.

i used the wikipedia image for the rust-lang logo as reference.
