Some updated sprites for a Hoplite-like unit, heavily based upon historical Byzantine soldiers.
I usually don't do concept stuff, but i've been Inspired by the Osprey books and seeing other's do concept sheets like this I wanted to try something similar.
Items:
1. Spangenhelm with cloth backing for protection, commonly used by Larissan Soldiers.
2. Another varient of a Spangenhelm, a looser sketch based concept. Sometimes identifying tufts may be placed on the top.
3. Paramerion, a curved sword, often used as a side-arm.
4. A kettle-style helm, less common than a Spangenhelm.
5. Padded armour, known as a Kavadion, widely used by Larissan troops.
6. A Kontarion, a long spear in common use.
7. A large kite shield, a less common varient of the Teardrop shield.
8. A large teardrop shield, large enough to cover the legs.
9. Common thigh-high boots in use.
10. A phrygian-style helm, an older design brought back into fashion.
11. An oval shield, an older styled shield that is also sometimes used. | 
Would recommend Cyangmou's stuff, he's much more focused on that kind of thing. I wanted to create my own faction of troops ground in low-fantasy, and based on historical equipment but im not totally wedded to it when it comes to creating more stuff
