Study your fave artists or games, try out palettes (I like to use this site because I'm not great at making my own: https://lospec.com/palette-list ) and practice a bunch! Thanks for the feedback. This is my first try at pixel art, so I expected that it wouldn’t be amazing, but I really enjoyed the process of making it. Also, thank you for the tips; I really appreciate that!

i really like this design but i share the opinion that it's more like a wip than a finished piece.

Looking good, however it seems like it's more of a WIP than a finished piece. The outline is pretty messy and inconsistent. The color count is also somewhat high for something of this size, especially the lineart. It's def a good start but I feel like you could give it a little more polish to really make it stand out!
