I have to say, ZX Spectrum is my least favorite 8bit and its palette is the worst palette ever but I've always admired those who can squeeze the best out of it. This is the perfect example of how to cope with those limitations, hand down. Good job, I can even imagine an isometric game based on this screenshot ;)
