This was a fun overworld map illustration I made for a project a few years ago! Each kingdom had it's own themes and motifs, and players would be able to join a kingdom and compete against other competing kingdoms.

I love everything about this: the concept, the colors, the shading! I like that you gave a lot of emphasis on the buildings and less on the nature aspects so our eyes are drawn more to the detailed areas. Beautiful work!
