Honestly, I WISH I had started dressing like this in high school but I was too shy and bullied for ALREADY wearing weird stuff (anime shirts, band jackets, wristbands, etc.) but now I don't really care. If it's black and it's comfy it's on me. Tho in high school I refused to wear anything but my converse shoes. I'd wear them until they had holes 
Now I don't really like regular shoes, I've moved onto black boots.
Coolest outfit in the first row. Best shoes in the shoe universum. When I was a teenage metalhead in the 90's shoes like that were the only ones allowed. Otherwise people could start asking you to name songs of the band from your t-shirt. We walked in them in winter and summer. We combined them with an elegant suit and a beach outfit (black of course), and we always tried to skip PE so we wouldn't have to change them to sneakers. Legends about some people sleeping in theme are not hygienic.
