The Retro Redrawn collaboration project for Super Mario 3 wrapped up recently, with all the world maps, levels, bosses etc represented. One last slot was handed out, first-come-first-serve - the post-final boss screen of Mario rescuing the Princess. I took the liberty of changing the context to represent a slightly more robust farewell, paying homage to the game's theatrical motif.
