Wow. This is an amazing result. You can replace the file of this submission by clicking the pen icon under the artwork, and upload a new file to "your artwork". Remember that the file needs to have a different name than the one already uploaded, otherwise the system won't recognise any change, and won't replace the file.
Thank you so much! I did go back in and see if I could reduce the colors down and it was easier than I expected to do that without compromising the look and feel of the piece. I ended up with 14 colors which is crazy to me. I'd never guess that it could be so minimal like that and still look smooth.
You did amazing job! I'm accepting your first piece. Welcome to pixel Joint!
The first tip would be that in pixel art (at least traditional one) we focus on hand pixelling techniques and we tend to use as little colours as possible, because this is historically appropriate. So we avoid all the blur tools and we avoid colours that are very similar if that is possible (everything of course has it's exceptions, but that is a next step). You can learn to imitate watercolours with pixel art, and I would love to see you develop your own style of that and master it. Before you go there try to learn colour recycling, and colour reducing. You can start a new piece with a limited palette, for practice, or choose a ready made palette from Lospec, or join our weekly challenges. Or you can even practice on this piece. Try to find as many similar colours as you can and unify them. If you can reduce the palette from 92 to a half it will be a win. Experienced pixel artist would draw a piece like that with around 16.
You can check details here.
Thank you for joining and have fun with pixels. Also consider joining our discord :)
