consistency in the dithering ( keeping it happening a bit everywhere in the shadow) would help the 'messy' thing. And I'm talking about the contour aa around the shapes, both trunk and branches. You're aa-ing, but you're not representing the curves as much as you should. It's smoother than no-aa, but it's broken.

The ground shadow is meant to imitate the texture of soil, in kind of a stylistic way. Given that, I'm open to suggestions about how to achieve that better. As for the broken AA, are you referring to the branches, or the trunk? or both? Helm (Level 5 Detective) at 11/12/2006 11:54:47 PM
Lots of broken aa. Strange dithering on the ground shadow. The concept is wonderful, the execution lacking.

I'm not really sure, but I think I remember this from the old pixelation forums. It's a bit flat, and there are some leaves at strange places but overall its a quite impressive piece. A good lineart and decent colours but I'd skip the AA on this. And yeah, you should really show some new stuff, I can hardly wait...

Omgod, this is probably the greatest pixelled tree I have ever seen. It is absolutely gorgeous. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, like chicken noodle soup. Full marks man. +fav
