consistency in the dithering ( keeping it happening a bit everywhere in the shadow) would help the 'messy' thing.
And I'm talking about the contour aa around the shapes, both trunk and branches. You're aa-ing, but you're not representing the curves as much as you should. It's smoother than no-aa, but it's broken.
I'm not really sure, but I think I remember this from the old pixelation forums. It's a bit flat, and there are some leaves at strange places but overall its a quite impressive piece. A good lineart and decent colours but I'd skip the AA on this. And yeah, you should really show some new stuff, I can hardly wait...
Omgod, this is probably the greatest pixelled tree I have ever seen. It is absolutely gorgeous. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, like chicken noodle soup. Full marks man. +fav
