Pixel art recreation of a byzantine skoutatoi which roughly translates to "shieldbearer" in greek. One smaller functional sprite and one larger one

A type of heavy infantry employed by the Byzantine/Eastern Roman empire from the 7th century.

Typically wearing chainmail and lamellar armour alongside padded/cloth armour and using large shields. Struggled to implement lamellar so defaulted to chainmail, hope it reads as such.
