It's been a few (tons of) months since the last time i drew something, so maybe this inktober thing will provide some inspiration <:
I like the color palette of a pumpkin: the orange tones are the main in the fruit, and come accompanied by a muted green in the stem. I wanted to emphatise the shade with purplish blue tones, creating a triadic color scheme (i didn't learn color theory for nothing...). In the beginning, there was too little value variation, the contrast between light and dark zones was extremely high, and it didn't look too great. I worked more on that, and checked by applying a grayscale filter to the image, which I found to be really useful in this case!
I often find difficulties in rendering textures as I picture them in my head, but honestly I'm impressed by how they came out here! So I'm quite proud of this one. :)
* this is a slight modification from the original piece, which had one more color in the palette |
Thank youuuu!! (Figured out how to comment! I just needed to relogin XD)
