Sean Malone was a bass virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, composer, music theoretician, pencil enthusiast, and a wonderful, kind and humble human being. There will never be another person even remotely close to him. He is also a very important figure to me personally. I switched to fretless bass and started playing Chapman Stick because of him. He inspired me to study theory and dive into many other styles of music when I still was a narrow-minded metalhead in the late 90s. When I first heard his solo on Cynic – Textures, I couldn't believe such things could even be possible. I had an honour to talk with him, and he shared some wisdom I always carry with me to have it available when needed. There is no way to describe how much humanity has lost when he passed.
