It's done fantastic, but I can't look at it.. Soo scary... And yet awesome.. but scary.. 
Interesting to see the artist's other work. A couple push definitively into 'difficult to look at' territory for me (the two 'hemmorh' pictures particularly) but mostly I find them oddly pleasant to l despite the subject matter. What a weird effect.
Wow, that is an interesting thought. I see the warmth even if the reds have a cold shift to pinks, which gives it a cold, butchery meat feel.

When I look at the artist paintings now, after reading your comment, I see that struggle between cold and warmth very intentional.
Came out great. You really captured the weird space the cover art captures for me between extreme gore and an odd warmth (I think the painterly style and lack of pure black contribute to that).
one of the best entries in the collab imo. ALso the drummer on this album goes buck wild (I listened to the whole thing because of this drawing)
