I was requested by a non-profit to make an interactive art piece for a showcase. The idea I had was to have 36 cubes, 6 across and 6 down. Every cube has a 4x4 tile of pixels on each side. It's hard to explain but basically imagine a typical jigsaw puzzle except each puzzle piece has 6 different sides with each side being an entirely new picture.
Every piece shown above represents something important to me: Rap music (top left), movies (top right), video games (middle right), art (bottom left) and myself (bottom right). The middle left one was just an extra one I made when trying to get ideas. If you can recognize what each piece is supposed to be I'd love to know!
It was a fun exercise and helped me think of how to make pixel art easy to understand for people unfamiliar with it. The showcase hasn't happened yet but when it does I'm excited to see if anyone is able to solve one of them.
Each piece is 24x24px and only 4 colors. |
