A friend of mine was making a platform shooter, he asked for 25x25 size tiles and a main character to match..I really had no time at all to work on this. I probobly spent an hour finishing it up...I know its very choppy and I could definately smooth it out, but its his first game and I didnt think I needed to go all out on something that might not even be finished. So it was more or less just helpin someone out.. He was very pleased

Only 19 colors (including the GROSS 255,0,255 neon pink color background)

Hope you enjoy   :-)

Yeah I hate it when it does that normally with me I just save the animation again. And it solves the problem.

I think I remember getting that problem with Anim Shop with the colours, what you need to do is when saving, click the Customize button on the "Animation Quality Vs Output Size", and drag number of colours to 256 (even if your pictures don't use them, and on the Reduce Colour section select "Nearest Colour" instead. That trick usually works for me.

Ya dude... Its decent but I hate it now that I look at it...for a few reasons

#1 if you make an animation to long it will start to clog up your machine. I have a horrible computer so even the smallest animation slows down my computer.

#2 If you use certain colors in an animation, it will adjust the color to please itself. I dont really know why and its kind of hard to explain but say for instance I might use a shade of light brown. Sometimes Animation shop will change my colors to a different shade of brown in a few pixels..SO it can REALLY jack with your art sometimes..

Look at the piece in my gallery of myself...look at my hair during the animation.. At one point the hair on my head is all brown, then it goes checker boarded, light brown and dark brown.. I didnt do that.. Animation shop did that. Which really starts to piss me off.

Is that animation shop from jasc software?

Its a mockup until its published, I think. So yes :)
255,0,255 is a standard color used for transparencies. No one in their right mind would use it otherwise.

OH BTW..forgot...Jalonso, is it still considered a game mockup if its actually tiles from a real game that im working on? Or does it have to be something that will never be played. :)

FlyGuy (Level 7 Underboss) at 11/25/2006 6:45:27 PM

Hehe..the reason I do 255,0,255 pink is because ive been doing art for a tilebased game for the past 2 1/2 years..and the client converts any 255,0,255 instantly to transparent in the game engine. So I'm just use to doing it like that...

Everyone asks me if im gay when I send them loads of my game art .... :-p

If you can't make the bg transparent, prehaps you could at least change the colour?

jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) at 11/25/2006 3:05:31 PM
Oh, giffy does not support animations Maybe Animation Shop 3 oes, dunno.
You've made a good effort so its all good. Try and find a solution for uneeded BGs in the future, k, k.

Download giffy.

Dude, I would but I only have MSpaint and Animation Shop 3.. Unless anyone here can teach me how to make transparent with those 2 programs..im pretty much stuck to my cave man like tools.

Unless there is a standard color for PJ forums that automatically converts to transparent...Thanks for the input though Afflict

You should make the pink transparent.
