Obviously you need to be listening to the soundtrack as you view this.

I wanted to challenge myself on this one by going really small. Inner canvas is 32x18, outer canvas is 48x27.

Surprise! Palette is Tiger24. What an unusual choice for me.

I welcome two interpretations for where the person of the challenge is in this landscape:

1. (official) the pillar in the distance is the engineer's ship landing on some distant island across the oil.

2. you are looking across the oil from the engineer's POV at an abandoned piece of Fulgora's lost civilization.

Would the sky be blue in Fulgora? Probably not but listen my username isn't scienceician ok

Thank you!

And that is a feeling I can understand to 100%. Especially since your piece is lovely enough as it 😁

Gorgeous shot. You are absolutely correct, two suns would do the trick. My actual motivation to follow through on that is......not great

Great minds think alike or something 😂😁  less Homer for me and more hmmm 🤔 I tried to find a photo I took when I was in Croatia a couple of years ago of a very similar looking sundown (colours) but it might've been with my mothers phone as she had a better one. Here's another one I took of a sunrise close to my workplace in 2018-2019 but more pink. Iphone 6s so apologies for the bad quality.

You could always add another sun if you have the time? Two suns is pretty much non earth after all 😉

Thanks for the kind words

Yes, the "that's a lighthouse" interpretation is very valid. My wife said the exact same thing when I showed her. And considering homer's "wine-dark sea" it's not difficult to imagine the reds in the sea as being terrestrial. Or in other words it didn't quite hit either part of the challenge

I love your pixel art! Need to say it at least once lol.

Small pieces like this is so hard, I find that in most cases you kind of need to know what it's based on to see what it is but you really managed to make it work. Did one a year ago or so and mine is much less readable. Love the way you use the colours and for me it looks like gazing out over the water seeing a tall tower/lighthouse or similar in the distance. With that said, I have no idea what the fulgorian sea is, quite obviously ^_^;;
