Title screen for mobile game developed by Inlogic.
The game tells sad story about small robot trapped for misterious reasons inside malfunctioning computer hardware.

Fair enough, I don't expect everyone to approach pixelart in  the same manner, and glad that isn't the case.  I do think that the same "benefits" could be obtained using less colors, but using different sorts of dithering, at least in certain portions of the piece.  In other areas, I agree, the level of detail and appearance of the piece would be lessened were less colors used, no matter what techniques one were to use.

Damn, Riva, I didn't notice you'd started posting up new stuff. I love the design of this robot, and the dynamic pose and vibrant colors... it's so nice.

ThereIsNoCure: Im sorry but Im not member of low-color club or mad ditherers sect here at PJ. The whole time on Pixelation and PJ Im pushing the idea that as long as it benefits the image you should use as many images as you want.

The data size optimisation for mobiles is a different thing of course.
I think version of this image in the actuall game is much more down-colored for heap-saving purposes, yes.
