Overall great piece, but I would like to point out in particular how awesome I think the letters are.

it's true, if you need more colors to make the piece better, the world is your oyster.

Fair enough, I don't expect everyone to approach pixelart in  the same manner, and glad that isn't the case.  I do think that the same "benefits" could be obtained using less colors, but using different sorts of dithering, at least in certain portions of the piece.  In other areas, I agree, the level of detail and appearance of the piece would be lessened were less colors used, no matter what techniques one were to use.

Damn, Riva, I didn't notice you'd started posting up new stuff. I love the design of this robot, and the dynamic pose and vibrant colors... it's so nice.

ThereIsNoCure: Im sorry but Im not member of low-color club or mad ditherers sect here at PJ. The whole time on Pixelation and PJ Im pushing the idea that as long as it benefits the image you should use as many colors as you want.

The data size optimisation for mobiles is a different thing of course.
I think version of this image in the actuall game is much more down-colored for heap-saving purposes, yes.

Alltogether a nice piece, though I feel good use of dithering could cut the color count tremendously.
