Ben: Good idea, thanks! I didn't even think of placing the lighsource, I just started shading and kept the angle.
Skeddles: Selective outlining is a good idea. I actually wanted a really simple style for this picture with black outlines only, but it somehow ended up like this in the end. Gonna give it a go!
Terley: I've got a little problem with colors generally. I'm colorblind, so all I can do is guess sometimes. When I was little, I drew skin green because it seemed closer to skin color to me. :) So, the green stuff behind the little guy should be lighter and more blue-ish, did I understand that right?
Bernie's games are awesome to the max!
Something didn't quite seem right about this pic and I figured it out; it's the light source. The lighting is all correct for where the sun is in the picture - but because it's on the opposite side of the rock, the dragon and the rock are both covered in shadow, making them difficult to distinguish. If the sun were in front of the rock, illuminating the side that's in the picture, everything would be a lot brighter and clearer.
at 100% it looks like the cliff is the dragon's body and he's got hold of the character, maybe because its too green, I'd suggest moving the cliff's colouring more over to the blue's of the spectrum and altering it's saturation so there is some seperation from the whats closer and whats further away. Looks great when I understand it.
Yeah, I make games from time to time. :) Thanks for playing them!
There seems to be more to AA than I had anticipated. Gonna check some tutorials and whatnot.
