CGAish really. It's CGA palette 1, dark, only with light gray to YELLOW hack.

I like both palettes, but the yellow is much more striking.  Love the caricature.

I don't like the yellow at all. It looked much better with the gray imho. Didn't hurt the eyes that much.

The CGAyellow differs a little from that you've applied here: is a little brighter. EDIT: yes, hehe, sometimes I'm being pedantic.

The previous version (the one in a thumb) was a kind of gloomy, now it looks (hmm) eccentric. The caricature is quite awesome, I like it!

yellow is a good emotional color. What's the mood now with it, in your opinion?

skeddles (Level 9 Necrophiliac) at 2/19/2007 7:29:32 PM
why did you use yellow?

That was just an apportunity for me to try subpixelling. It's not the best place for it at all, yes. Top lid closes in blinking yes, but since it's merged with the eyebrow due to the face angle, I supposed bottom would be better to not have too much noise issues there. I didn't try the proper way though, so for all I know it can be done succesfully just fine.

Always with the triangles, heh...

I've never understood why the bottom eyelids were blinking. I thought when people blink, their top eyelids do the majority of movement. I know you can blink with your bottom eyelid(sorta'), I just feel that part looks weird. Not to mention, when his eyes slowly come back, (uh, what's that animation technique where they use "shades" to show movement, instead of actual movement), the technique doesn't look as if it should have been used in this case. Maybe a slower time for the eyes coming back.
Also, the lip and cheek twitch could use some more lovin', as it seems as if they were moved around sparingly( I'm guessing a total of 1-2 frames?). I'm no expert on animation, but that's all I could gather.
Love the caricature, though.
