You did a great job, I find that 'boss' enemies and large creatures are more difficult because of their size. So it's hard to compose them when you're zoomed into the pixels. But you did really well.
Very intimidating monster. So many legs! I'm noticing I need to darken my shadows for more visual pop, thanks for the inspiration. Keep it up!
I like it. I wouldn't sweat the shadows. I mean really, coming from the impression I get this is an arcade screenshot I'd keep it as-is.
This is wonderful. The boss could benefit from some sort of highlight color, he's rather monotonous. Perhaps color those large nodes on his shoulder could be colored differently.

Looks great! I like the palette too with that toned-down background.
Only thing that bothers me is the shadow under the monster looks a bit too simple considering how complex the creature is...
That would really freak me out in an last stage with just 10% of energy XD
But artistically, it gazes me. Excellent work!
There are some light areas on the monster that could be redone because, at least I see they're a bit 'jaggy'.
