These were some mock screens that Robert Oakes, Zan Sidera, and myself made for April fools of 2006. Though, these aren't them EXACTLY, since the originals were in JPG for the prank... plus the graphics have been updated.

I made all of the background work, and the effects. Robert Oakes made all the sprite designs, and Zan edited them slightly and edited Megaman into Evil Megaman.

Eventaully, we'll have a real demo of the game out.

EDIT: Alright, I've updated the image now with the origonal background, for a more pixelated look. C+C please?

Actually, the background gradient does appear a bit flat. I reckon you'd get away with just a flat colour and a few clouds.

Oh, that makes the foreground/play area stand out better. That's actually a great solution that fits in perfectly. +3 dots :D

OMG, the sky really does kill it. So much so, its distracting from a pixelart standpoint. Especially the way it has one style used on top but traditional dithering at the bottom.

Hmm, well, with that kind of reaction, I'll have to change it... I did that sky like that though so I could try to avoid the normal looking skies that are out there.

Would the original sky look better?:

It's more simplistic, but it may fit that kiddy look the graphics have. If that's the case, I'll upload a revised version.

I agree with those guys. the sky is really bad.

How about putting more city in the bg, that would improve it.

Sorry to say but the sky looks like you took a brush tool to it. Reduces the quality of the rest of the pic.
