this looks like something i would see on a tacky rug in my aunt's house. apart from the weird anatomy very well done.

You have the raddest 8 bit style man. If this sort of art were in NES games back in the day peoples minds would be BLOWN! Since I am a nostalgia junkie, my head is still blown 20 years after the NES. Man, seriously these dudes below have no idea what 8 bit art is all about. I am as big of an NES enthusiast as you can be, and this is absolutely amazing art! Please make more....SOON!

He has 4 fingers and a thumb it is just shadowed darker, because it is under the thumb. Dont really know how to fix the blobbiness in the face and neck because I can only use 3 colors. Any pointers would be nice other than just saying "it looks like a blob"

The composition is nice but the technique is lacking.  The first thing I noticed was the guys top half of his head is extremely flat and out of perspective.  The second thing being, the guy only has 2-3 fingers and a thumb. The hand area really doesn't make too much sense. Which led to me check out his neck area. That too makes little sense. The lack of depth on his head carries through to his neck. Which to me looks like an amorphous 2d blob. The collar and areas to the right of the collar look rather nice however. As does the simplistic comic book style of the middle fireball. I agree with christopher about the block/cube. If it is indeed meant to be a boulder it should look like a boulder not a brick. I doubt they tore up buildings so they could launch bricks.

By the way, the third pic, the one with the pure yellow bg is the one I'm critting from. Because it is the most readable and it makes use of the colors available the best.

All crits aside, I really like how the middle fireball was done. If the rest of the piece reflected that, I think I'd love it.

Thats because it is a boulder. If you know a little about war back then, they would douse large rocks with oils and light them, then catapult them into the enemy. Sometimes they would even hollow out the rocks and fill them with explosive liquid/powders.

Also a cube is identical on all 6 sides. I feel that was the best way to represent a boulder in just 3 colors. If you can figure a way to do it better, would you mind telling me or sending me a picture of a better way to do it? Thanks for the input
